I just put a set of these on my ride. They were used but still excellent tread and I got a smoking deal ok them. I had them mounted and balanced the other day at discount tire and the guy said he set them at 40psi.
They are 285/70/17 D load duratracs. I am running a limited with front and rear...
Gotcha.. I started to say, that when I compared the 285's unmounted next to the 20's on the car, they werent that much different. It has to be the weight, plus the little bit of size difference.
I was right with my feeling but wrong ok them being the same. I unloaded the 20s a min ago and rolled the setup next to the others since they are now mounted and the 20 setup is about an inch taller.
Thanks all. I got it sorted. Discount tire actually just swapped em over for me when I got my tires mounted. Didn’t even have to pay any extra and they rebuilt them as well. They just pushed the tire on one side. Pulled them out and popped a rubber stem in place and filled back up with air for me.
Awesome man. I am a fan of the 8 hole trail / FJ wheels. I was going to do something else aftermarket, but when I came upon the deal for these, I could not pass it. Then I just went and had them finished in my color choice. :pop2:
The longer I am around it, the more I am getting used to it. I think it was just playing with my mind. I even took the tires and sat them side by side before the switch and they were almost dead on in circumference.
So I purchased my 2014 limited a couple months back and it had 20x9 gear wheels on a 275/60/20 Falken Wildpeak at3w equivalent of a 33x11. I wanted to go smaller from the beginning as I wasnt crazy about the style of wheel and the 20s.
Forward a couple months later I came across an amazing...
I have a 2014 LTD also, and I think mine sounds fairly good. I came from a 2014 Platinum Tundra where it did not sound as good to me. I havent noticed any buzzing except the occasional speaker bass door rattle.
Yeah thats my thought too, but from what I know, the TPMS have been on there for 70k miles (i bet they are the originals in the aftermarket wheels on my 4R). So I am not sure if there is benefit to juts saving the money and disabling the light.
My head says to have them switched over. My pocket...
Thanks for these ideas. For when they break the bead, does one have to have the wheel and tire rebalanced? That is an interesting method I did not thnk of.
The junkyard thing isnt an option for me, plus I wouldnt want them to scratch the aftermarket wheels they would be coming off of that I...
