I have an ecu and engine harness on way from a 97 SR5 to replace in my 96 as I could not find a replacement harness for it. The question is besides the harness plugging straight into the new ecu is there any modifications that are going to be necessary, due to, other plugs that maybe plugging...

Just trying to confirm this information as I was told there was a good chance it may have not...

I appreciate the information. I have found yards that have 4x4 and 5 speeds when called around just not the exact part# I was looking for. Why did Toyota make everything so different if a basic ecu and harness out of another like model with same Trans and drivetrain work? Will a 2wd ecu work...

Perfect. If any ecu and harness will work thats a 5 speed and 4x4 than why is there different types?
