yep the base was I4. nothing under there either but a straight piece of fuel line. im starting to wonder if somebody yanked the filter out and bypassed it.......

yea......... um............. so where is this thing on a base 96?? i got the tank dropped right now cause i just replaced the fuel pump (306K miles :)) but i cant find the filter for the life of me. i dont see it anywhere by the frame rails or the underneath of the engine compartment. any info...
