I want to go fast offroad

Hey bud, all great responses. I only want add that you might want to think about the abs on these rigs, it’s primitive and has caused issues before. Hope you enjoy the machine and the outdoors.

    T4Tools Build Thread

I’ve been a fan for a while, haven’t been here in a bit. How has this rig progressed? I’m sure it’s beyond completed. Hopefully it’s still owned and cared for by its builder or found a happy home. I know it’s an older thread, but excuse me this truck is to cool to not ask about. Thank ya.

    Need new shifter knob

I went to a yard and got a 2nd gen taco knob. Probably order those easier, it’s not leather, way more comfortable.

    3rd gen scale model

That tamiya model looks like an rc car. I’m trying to get a surf and merica nize it. The hilux is a snap type, but I’m thinking of making a gun truck out of it(Toyota conflict vehicle). Anyway I think we all could benefit from scale bodies to try ideas out, maybe it’s just me. Some of my biggest...

    3rd gen scale model

I bought the hilux to build. I’ll check the tamiya site again though. I started building like crazy. 3+ builds a month. Taking a break from big vehicles to good wild custom models

    3rd gen scale model

So in addition to to being deep in fen 3 runners, hot rods and other american hobbies, in now back into scale model cars again. So has anyone seen a 3rd gen runner model? See a few surfs, lcs, hilux and 2nd gens, no gen 3. Let me if my google is broken or I need to commission plastics guy to make...

I am no welder but this doesn't look right...LOL

I’ll respectfully reply. That frame damage and repair would have me looking at a frame without rust. The wave in the plate is from the whole chassis twisting, at a certain point safety and drivability can suffer. Take measurements to ensure the frame is squared before and after. No easy way to...

Confirmed bad headgasket, what else shall I replace “while I’m in there”

Those springs look like a heli coil repair part. Probably stripped something somewhere and fixed it. Wow, one day I’ll get that far into mine. Oem gaskets, seems smart.

Other front coils with Tundra 5100?

So I used the front coils from a 07 taco trd off road 5spd vehicle with tundra 5100 2nd perch and T4r top hats. Probably 2 1/2” lift(didn’t measure). Clears 255/75/16 Yokohama mt tires no rub at all

    Rear bottoming out

Definitely worth it to get them, start wherever you’re bottoming out and get those. They are for everyone with a gen3 runner, they are what the factory should have done. Shouldn’t be $200, but I haven’t priced recently. Good on ya

    Intermittent hard start

So quick update. A month After the starter replacement, the issue of longgg starts came back, so I fiddled more with iac and throttle body, cleaned maf and new air filter and unplugged ecm relay. I also cleaned both 02 sensors and switched to shell fuel. Well some combo of that seems to have...
