This seems to be Exactly what the wifes 99 is doing. We got it just over a year ago it 267k and now its it 280k. It was idling rough at cold start and "smoking" at startup, then threw p0300 and p0303 starting about a week ago... Then p0302 joined the party! I was going to rent a compression...

Did you ever find all the hose sizes? Im about to tackle a valve cover gasket job and my 99 has 267k with Very Hard hoses with the ends cracking. Looking to replace most of that rubber if feasible!

Thank you! I got a 99 for the wife with 264k Last week. We got Minimal maintenance records with it so I have been wanting to go through virtually Everything. The timing belt and plugs were done at 215k so Im going to wait until 290-300k when I do the timing/h20. Thanks for the schedule...

I know this is an old thread but I have the same problem with an 06 Subaru Outback I have. Ive spent hours researching this and going through Subaru forum threads and there does not seem to be a "solid" fix to this.... Very disheartening! Im Almost thinking the PCM/ECM may be the problem...
