Who has done a diesel conversion?

They weight 800+ lbs (nearly twice the stock V6), and are EXTREMELY LOUD. You'll also need a new transmission and a way to connect it to the transfer case. All new wiring as well. A 4BT is an honest to god tractor motor and the whole truck will shake and vibrate. Youtube some videos. I...

Battle Pig Go! A&F T4R Progress.

After some quick advice from Chainring, I removed the factory amp (duh) and continued as planned. Ipods are go! I took the liberty of changing the bulbs in the dash and cluster to better match the new head-unit. Not a perfect match, but better than green + amber. I'll order some LEDs...

Well FRACK! Soldered up the Scion head unit last night. Followed Falcon115's instructions so there is no need to document that. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/audio-electronics/84630-t1814-installed.html However, I go out to install it today and guess what.. Scion - Stock 4runner. Even...

road trip in 3 days, having an engine problem...

I had two cars over the years with failed cats. They get plugged up, you loose all power and the car won't even run eventually. However this would not cause a cranking issue.

Took the truck to Silver Lake Dunes this past weekend with a friend and his family. Could not be more impressed. With the stock power and Cooper tires we where hoping to just get around on the sand, but aired down and in 4low, over drive off and power on, there was nothing this bad boy could not...

Deck is in, looks great! Seller even gave me the Scion user manual!! I'm ordering a USB cord right now and will hopefully get to it this week. I'll also get the clock fixed (it comes and goes) and hopefully get some photos.

What to do First With $1000

As previously touched on, read up the FAQ, Buyers guide ect. You'll want to make sure you do a transmission cooler or radiator swap. Very good investment to make sure you don't kaboom your trans. You could upgrade your brakes to Tundra setup, roughly $300 for new calipers and rotors...

has anyone relocated their oil filter?

There are lots of kits available for various applications, you'll have to fined out what the threading is. I personally find the stock location very easy to work with. Just life that flap on the side and your good to go with a oil-wrench cap thing.

The black plastic tabs. I ordered replacements at my local Toyota dealer... bas****s charged me $1.74 each. I thought about doing the Satoshi mod, but then I'm on the fence. It looks great, but at the same time it makes the truck look dated.

In that case my hood is jacked up. It has a faded spot and clear coat pealing. Up on the roof, same issue in two spots, but you can't see them without climbing up there. I'm planning on going hood scope anyways so I'm not bothered.

Installed the Tru-Cool Trans Cooler today. Nice piece, I did have to by another piece of hose as I miss cut the one it came with by about 3 inches. Grill came out nicely thanks to some input from here. However, when I tried to put it back in, I ended up braking half of the tabs. *Sigh*...
