    Seat comfort impressions ?

I'm not sure if there's any appreciable difference on the 2022s, but I do have to say that seat comfort has been perhaps my least-favorite thing about this vehicle. For reference, I guess I'd be considered a full-size male adult, 6'3", somewhere between 220 and 270 lbs. Have owned a 2018 TRD...

Unlocking doors going from Drive to Park

That is the exact reason why I had mine disabled. The dealer did it free of charge along with setting a longer interval for rear wiper intermittent mode. I had it done at the same time as one of my complimentary "ToyotaCare" oil change/tire rotations but had to schedule at a time when they had...

Just ordered a Covercraft Evolution car cover!

Since 2015, I've been using a Covercraft Technalon Evolution for winter storage protection of the other vehicle that graces my garage. It works great, keeps the dust out and seems to offer good dent/paint protection against "reasonable" accidental impacts. Well worth the money. Now having...

    Switch blank for SOS button

Does anybody know of a part number for the square-shaped switch blank on the overhead console? The one where the SOS switch goes on Limiteds. I'm thinking of wiring a switch up there, because there aren't enough OEM blanks, and I absolutely refuse to drill, cut, or modify anything in the...

Dashcam install: Mounting + wire+trim advice

2019 Pro, Is this a good price?

Well I guess I'm a full-size person, 6'3", weighing in at over 1/10 of a metric ton. Hahahaha, well on that note, I do also prefer steering column mounted shifters for automatic transmissions. Guess I'm an old fogey.

2019 Pro, Is this a good price?

Too bad it's white. Otherwise I'd say totally worth it. Not sacrificing headroom to a moonroof is a plus, and being able to use a proper key instead of a push-button is an even bigger plus.

Real World MPG with 5th Gen?

16,000 miles in, stock wheels and tires: 17.4 mpg lifetime average. I'd estimate 3/4 city, 1/4 highway. It gets substantially better in the summer, as one would expect.

    DIY Maintenance Logs

Excel spreadsheet. Column for date, mileage, hours (if applicable), vehicle system affected, short description, detailed description (including part number or brand, observations, etc.), and who did the work (if it wasn't me). One for each vehicle.

    Exceeding Towing Capacity

SAE J2807 towing capacity ratings have a decent amount of margin built in, to accommodate the most severe driving conditions. In this situation, 6000 lbs of trailer would likely still be acceptable. Just don't tell your insurance company and you'll be fine.

Used oil analysis baselines <5000 miles

I decided against getting TBN due to the fact that this wasn't a "full" oil change interval, and it doesn't necessarily decrease linearly with usage. Others have already run virgin oil analysis on Toyota Genuine Motor Oil, assuming that's really what the factory fill is. I don't see much...

Used oil analysis baselines <5000 miles

Some here may argue that this has been discussed ad nauseam, and a subset of them will just revert to the classic "read the manual" response, regardless. Well, the Toyota maintenance schedule has first oil change at 10,000 miles/1 year, except for severe service 5,000 miles/6 months...

How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

If I recall correctly, MSRP did go up by $100 from 2018 to 2019. (Except on the TRD Pro, it went up thousands) Also the 2018s had the "Keep It Wild Savings" $750 credit baked in to the MSRP, which I don't think the 2019s have anymore. Option code QD.

How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Yep. $43,000.00 (including tax, new title & registration, handling/documentary fee, ERT fee, and rebate) MSRP $42,189 as built but $45,184 with dealer-installed accessories This was in September 2018, on perhaps the last 2018 Nautical Blue Metallic TRDOP in Illinois with KDSS. It did have a...

    Extra Trans Cooler...just because?

Thanks, I entered both the 3rd and 4th one and got readings, same number. This was without the engine running, so they could be from two different sensors (pan & TC). I'll find out tomorrow morning.
