anyone know where i can purchase the pigtail(adapter) from the engine wiring harness to the knock sensor? apparently the previous owner decided a 1/4" of duct tape would fix his f**K up!

wrong firing order? some firing orders can be close and run like crap at first then seem like they clean out, or vis-a-versa, it'll idle good but wont rev up nicely.

if its 3vze may be the knock sensor. could be clogged injectors too.

one more thing! dont forget to check to see if ur timing chain needs to be replaced while u have it apart. save yourself some hassle later on possibly.

I concur! that is definitley a blown head gasket. the 22re is damn near a bulletproof block. almost any machine shop will tell you that. but in my experience around 200,000 to 250,000 miles, either the head gasket goes, or valves break, or something along those lines. so you should be able to...

well, its not just one crack almost every tab on the valve covers are cracked because the guy who did the heads tightened the bolts too tight. and i know a guy that'd give me a good deal on fabricating some for me. he makes all his own stuff for his toyota trucks(beds, bed covers, etc.). we'll...

LAME! plastic covers is one of the dumbest things i've seen. oh well...im thinking some custom made ones are in order then. :)

Anyone know where i can get some different valve covers for my 2nd gen t4r? Doing the knock sensor fix and noticed the tabs for the bolts to the valve covers are cracked. I'm looking for the stock ones too but am wondering if i can get some aluminum ones or something. Thanks.

i agree! and then some. the FJ series has always been a superior off-road vehicle than most, including the Hummer's and Heeps. not to mention very historical. i think it was because he barely drove it. so my few venture offroad in it started loosening the injector clips and such. who knows, it just blows to look something over so well and think you're getting a good deal and then gettin screwed over.
