4th gen owner here, but I got the metaltech lines w/ less of a lift - my feeling is ~$65 is cheaper than a broken line someplace remote.

I've been considering steel front and rear bumpers on my 08 sport. Other than the obvious need for heavy-duty springs, are there any issues with overall weight? My biggest concerns are on wear and tear on transmission, inability to accelerate w/ a trailer attached, etc.

Thanks for response - purchased the worm drives. I’m original owner, and have never had to replace boots or axles - you can see there’s not much wear and tear, and less than 100k mi. I had a shop south of me install my lift kit, but they said they don’t touch CVs. He’s said he’s see them pop...

I took my '08 in to replace fusible link, and them do limited 90k inspection and replace brakes as they had a deal. Called me and said water pump needed to be replaced for $5k. I declined, bought the parts for $400 and am still waiting to see any seeping.

Noticed some staining in the wheel well, and some fresh grease splattered, and when looking at CV axle I noticed that neither inner boot has a clamp on it despite obvious channels on both. Is this typical? Given leaking, I'm guessing not. Can I just reclamp, or do I need to replace and regrease?
