What gen is the best for off-roading?

1st gen over 3rd gen i have a 3rd gen and it is awesome offroad... with electronic lockers and great power from the 3.4L....but the 1st gen had a straight axle until 85' and those are very easy to find parts for!

Will 2011 tacoma shocks and strute fit my 1997 4runner?

i have the chance to buy TRD shocks and struts (Bilstein) for cheap and was wondering if anyone knew whether or not they would fit on my 1997 4runner? thanks!

4runner has 150,000 miles, Want to take it on 4,000 mile trip..

I have a 1997 4wd limited with 255k miles, i do not have any doubt no matter how far i take it. Change all fluids Check all belts and hoses Check Radiator for cracks...and you are set
