yes that is correct, there is no internal power from the head unit it self

Yes, I actually hooked the unit back up at my buddys stereo shop(www.speedandsoundstl.com) to test all of the features and everything is in great working order I personally never had problems with cd's skipping unless they were visibly scratched To be honest, i have no idea about the aux...
