    8-state 2,800-mile trip in the 4Runner

Standing in a wedding turned into an 8-state 2,800-mile overland trip that included state parks, national parks, hiking, mountain biking, weaponized nukes, caves, mountains, national forests, a palace, an epic campsite along a river bank, ghost towns, the craziest store we’ve ever happened...

    Alpine Loop During Monsoon Season

A pothole made my dash cam trigger an incident, and it announced the incident storage was full. Instead of formatting the card, I pulled it and looked at the stored incidents - it stores 20 second clips when there's a quick spike in g-force that could have potentially been a crash, offroad it...

5th Gen 4Runner Tailgate (not the hatch!)

One of the most common reactions/questions people have to our 4Runner is wanting to know about the table on the back. It's a question I get often that we made a post for the what, why, and how of the bumper and there’s a little surprise twist at the end that you’ll likely want to check out if...

Trip Report: Epic 9-day 1,200-mile Tour of Colorado

I don’t map out specific routes ahead of times and I don’t record them as I go. In the linked post the end of each day has an overview of that days route. That’s what I tend to document.

Trip Report: Epic 9-day 1,200-mile Tour of Colorado

We have finally compiled a detailed account of our solo Tour of Colorado. It was 9 days and 1,200 miles across 1 State, 3 National Parks, 9 National Forests, 12 Wilderness Areas, and 16 Mountain Passes while camping out of our 2011 4Runner Limited. It's too much info to recompile it all here...

    Mixing different suspension brands?

Your suspension doesn’t care what branding is stamped on it. There no issue mixing brands, however Bilstein and Icon use digressive valving, pretty much no one else does. I wouldn’t mix valving types because both operate very differently.

Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue

Is it odd that I love the Ramones... but only their live albums. The studio stuff just feels so flat and watered down, the energy just isn’t there. Usually it’s the opposite and the music sounds great processed and filtered but they suck live.
