    Brake Pads

I've ran EBC Green stuff and I hated them on the 4Runner. Bite was great but brake dust was horrendous. I cleaned my wheels (stock OEM silver SR5 ones) daily because they'd be noticeably darker/browner than rears. I switched to Hawk HPS and had a lot of great luck (still running them). Not...

    Why only lift the front?

Isn't this a PreRunner kind of look? When I drove through the SW, I saw many purposeful-looking front lift biased trucks and 4Runners that looked like they were geared up to hit the dunes.

    Rear Bumper Insert Description

Not sure of the part. I'd probably just consider getting a TRD rear valence and calling it good.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I also swapped to the KO3s from KO2s a few months ago and love them (still in 265/70/17). I didn't have any issues with my KO2s from a grip standpoint but these KO3s have been stellar in heavy rain. My KO2s still looked great but had over 70k miles on them and were starting to get loud. I...

    Looking into tires

265/70/17 E KO3s are installed. Moved the best KO2 to my spare which looks super meaty underneath. I'll get a picture here soon. So far so good! Much quieter than my outgoing tires. Time will tell how they hold up noise wise but, if like my KO2s, they should be good for 50k miles. Looks wise...

    Phone mount options?

I found two right-size bolts with nuts and washers on the backend to make sure it didn't overly wear the plastic dash panel. This has held up great and the position is perfect. At the finger tips, easy to grab, power cord stays out of the way.

    Looking into tires

Wearing was good with me but noise was getting harsh. I don't fully blame the tires though as I have 285/75s KO2s on my JKUR and they aren't as loud. The 4Runner just isn't as well insulated I think. That all being said, I just placed an order for 265/70 BFG KO3s and will be getting them...

I have many suspicions but would love to hear your why.

    Looking into tires

I'm about to replace my 265/70 KO2s. They have 60k miles on them, still look new with plenty of tread but boy are they getting loud now. I loved them new and they've treated us well in every aspect, including water. I'll probably replace them with the KO3s.

Keeping my 5th Gen 4Runner for now despite the 2025 4Runner redesign

I like the new one (if I was in the market for something new) but honestly, I haven't seen anything that'd make me swap from a 5th gen. Honestly, I think Toyota set the brand's new styling bar with the 2014 4Runner and the design still looks fresh. Exterior wise, the new 6th gen looks good too...

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

This is mostly as I expected, for better or worse, and I don't think anyone is honestly surprised by anything we're seeing here. It looks cool but I'm a little bummed the TrailHunter looks so over-the-top flashy. I'm really hoping the TRD Off-Road is somewhere between the Limited and the...

    Official Reveal Thread 2025 6th gen 4Runner

This is what I'm thinking too: the front seats are pushed ALL the way back. The back door may be smaller but I think the fender flare, part of the door, is throwing off the visual dimensioning. As with most new vehicles, it always takes a second to get past the shock and awe. I bet it will...

Anyone go back to stock shocks from aftermarket?

I have about 40k on mine and still brag about how much they've helped the vehicles responses to roll and dive. They're stiff but I wouldn't call them stiff by any means. I, knock on wood, haven't had a leaking issue and if I do, they really aren't that expensive to replace. As such, I can't...

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I truly feel for you. I still have my JKUR and my wife drives our 4Runner and I will say I having both has been nice, although both are still thirsty. You'll like the 4Runner more with a couple of modifications, just as you've wrote. The brake dive and roll are absolutely terrible stock. A...
