Just got everyone installed today. I'm letting the car cool atm so I can torque it a 2nd time. For some of you guys, you might have to bend the oil check tube like i did to get the bolt to line up. Besides that, with the midpipes, manifolds and exhaust, it sounds very loud and throaty when...
It looks like the only way to really get access is completely removal the motor mount from the short block, than jacking up the engine. But that's too much work for torquing one nut. Fyi, this tool helped me get to some of the other nuts.
I just installed the manifold on the passenger side. It was practically impossible to get a torque wrench on a couple of nuts, even with swivals. Did you find yourself hand tightening those nuts that were impossible to get too? I'm anal about torque specs, esp since it's stated 20-25 ft lbs...
Just curious, did any of you guys have light gouges on the mating side of the flange? I called Doug Thorley and they said the gasket will seal the imperfections. Just curious if it was just mine or if it was common.
14 mm and 10 mm 3/8 impact swival socket from Sunex. These are just deep enough. Any deeper in socket and it would probably have trouble with clerance.
That sucks, I was hoping they went in just as easy as they went out. Not looking forward to jacking up the engine, lol. Are you able to squeeze a torque wrench on all the nuts?
I took the old manifolds off today. With a milwaukee impact wrench, extensions and a impact swival, it made it pretty easy. The weird thing is, the old manifolds fell right out without any need to jack up the engine like the instructions stated.
