    No V8 Planned for 2010/2011

It is amazing, heck I remember when the 0-60 on trucks were in the double digits. The 0-60 on many of the affordable sports cars these days is amazing as well. My first truck was an '87 Blazer and new it was a dog compared to my 4R @ 140k. I wish I was getting 17mpg average... I get just under...

    No V8 Planned for 2010/2011

I know... The Lexus does get better MPG though, but at the cost of more expensive fuel. The GX460 is "geared" different, the torque seems to kick in at higher MPH. Off the line I was like "mines faster", punch it at 45mph and it was like "whoa". It may be marketed as a luxury off-road, that can...

    No V8 Planned for 2010/2011

I couldn't agree more, I drove the GX and really like it... Get rid of the barn, the 3rd row, some of the wiz bang stuff, and that is exactly what the 4Runner should have been. I will say that the GX460 is grossly over priced and the Lexus dealers won't discount them... I've never paid more...

    2010 Limited buying experience~!

Mine too and I paid $34.4k for it in Dec 2002. One of my friend's is going to give me $11.5K for it (132k mi on it now) when/if I get the Lexus GX460.

2010 Lexus GX460 hits the web

I like it and I think I'm going to buy one. My only gripe/worry is the barn door style cargo door and the flip up rear window (though it's nice to see they added the window), can see pro's and cons for both styles of cargo door. My other, minor, complaint is why the freakin' 4.6l Lexus V8 has...

Saw a 5th Gen on the road

Yup, looks like a loaf of white bread.

    My next 4Runner (kind of)

The Lexus is likely what I'm going to go with (if I don't decide to keep buy 4th Gen and buy a 2nd car) and if I like it. The rear door is what I never liked about it, but to be honest, little kids can have a tough time with the 4Runner door. If it's got the V8 and the A/C blowing seats, I'll...

    Silver Limited spotted in Richmond

Kinda looks like they took a 4th Gen and slapped a Highlander front and rear on it. Not really digging it from those pictures, still haven't seen one here.

2010 Motortrend SUV of the Year

That is actually very true throughout the magazine industry. You can point out very minor shortcomings when reviewing a product for a major advertiser, but don't make them look bad. I've seen it don't, editors DO take advertising into account and will delete stuff from an article.

    2010 T4R Limited for $34K

Disclaimer, I didn't click the link. I got my 2003 Limited V8, 4WD, w/ XREAS for a few hundred bucks over $34k... This was in Dec 2002 (though I did the buying/negotiation in Nov.) The economy was bad and I dealt with the dealership via e-mail. In fact, their price came in $400 under my lowest...

On the Lot in Atlanta Pics

I understood, I just didn't agree. The 4th Gen was a big change from the 3rd Gen, but it was more refined with better power. My only real complaint with the 4th Gen is the ugly AC controls and the stupid location of the 12v and AC power socket. FWIW: I hated the 4th Gen body style when I first...

Trail w/KDSS pack. vs. Limited w/Torsen

It's difficult for me to explain... Roll isn't terribly different, the suspension was stiffer with the XREAS, but I get a rougher ride with the Blitzs. I really can't articulate the difference, with the XREAS the truck seemed to stick to the road better. I've gone over bumps (off road) where I...

On the Lot in Atlanta Pics

I really hate that steering wheel, it looks like something out of an old, bad SciFi movie. No, V8, Mast Ant, crappy looking steering wheel, crappy shifter, and cheap plastic. You know what the new 4Runner reminds me of? Those cheap stereos they sell at Walmart or Best buy, they throw on all...

5th gen 4Runner: What did Toyota delete from the 4th gen?

Even the Chevy Tahoe doesn't have a mast antenna :-(

Trail w/KDSS pack. vs. Limited w/Torsen

No worse than the XReas on the Limited... They work, but I blew two of mine around 70k, they were leaking. Worked great though, even when leaking, I do notice a slight difference between them and the Blitzsteins <sp> HD's I now have. I'm just more interested in bigger sway bars.
