    Alex’s Golden Pearl OEM+ 3rd Gen Build

Figured I might as well post an update since its been close to 3 years. Life moves fast and FB groups have really come a long way but I think forums may be making a come back. Anyway, I still have the 4runner and its been a great daily. I've changed a couple things like adding some more Surf...

    Alex’s Golden Pearl OEM+ 3rd Gen Build

Not 4runner related, but I picked up this hunk o' junk last month. My stable is now officially finished. These are the last ICE cars that I will buy/own. I will drive them all into the ground or at least until ICE cars are outlawed. I now have what I believe to be the perfect group of cars from...

Haha nice, good recon. I like NAM but sucks it won't even be 10% of what m3f was. Lost a lot on that site when it died. Your 4runner build is looking great!

Yeah there are some coil pack issues with the N54 but having two turbos is lots of fun haha. Do the N55 and slap a bigger turbo on it and you'll be pushing big numbers. All good, thats what I get for trusting the S2000 on the street for a night. Never doing that again.

    Alex’s Golden Pearl OEM+ 3rd Gen Build

It's been great, as long as you take care of rod bearings, vanos, and rear subframe they're good for a long time. I take it to redline every time I drive it and it always puts a smile on my face. I'd recommend getting the E90 335i and getting JB4 and tuning it to run more boost. It's insanely...

    Alex’s Golden Pearl OEM+ 3rd Gen Build

Happy to report that the supercharger has been running great so far the last couple thousand miles and pulls hard in boost! I still need to set up the OE Toyota TRD white face boost gauge though. I had some time with WFH and decided to show the 4runner some more love and bought a couple things...

spark plug tube seals are REALLY IN THERE!!!!

I was able to use the flathead screwdriver and rubber hammer method, slightly tapping the outer edges of the seal. Then, when I was able to get a good grip, I used to pliers to yank them out. Worked pretty well for me!

    keyless entry beep volume

Have any of you who have replaced the little beeper under the hood and have had it remain quiet afterwards figured out what the issue was?

    Alex’s Golden Pearl OEM+ 3rd Gen Build

I guess this week is filled with updates! Now that I tackled the supercharger I felt empowered so I decided to give installing the Field Monitor Unit that I had laying around for the past year! I picked up this FMU off of eBay from someone in Russia after looking for one for a while that was...

    Alex’s Golden Pearl OEM+ 3rd Gen Build

Big update! After many hiccups, I finally got the supercharger installed and working properly! I installed IK22 plugs, and NGK wires for now. I have a OE Toyota 170 degree thermostat in the box that I still need to install, but temps have been low for now with the 180 degree thermostat. Hearing...

    The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Thanks, I was able to look at the vacuum line diagrams using the TRD instructions. I just wasn't sure if I could still run the supercharger on my 4runner the same way that it was set up on the Tacoma using that intake silencer. I was able to rig it up so that its running now (FPR to boost port)...

    The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to run to Home Depot/Menards/Lowes tomorrow to see if I can find the correct brass barb. If I can find one, I'm going to install it correctly and T off the boost gauge. If I can't find one, the way the supercharger was set up on the Tacoma is the vacuum line from...

    The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Hey guys, I ran into an issue with installing my 2nd gen supercharger. I pulled the charger from a 5 speed 2002 Tacoma 4wd. I am putting it into my auto 2002 4runner 4wd. On the back of my supercharger, the previous owner was running a fitting that connected directly into the boost gauge. See...
