Thanks Kmvreter. That looks like what I need. How has your fix held? Any problems? Leaking grease? I am not sure whether I have a torn boot or not yet. It looks like most of the grease came out of the end of the boot rather than from the boot itself since the boot itself is relatively clean.

I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 installed. I did the install in January. Since then I have gone on 7 offroad runs with a local 4x4 club. Some of the runs were trails and some were to a local offroad park. I have many tree pinstripes and even a couple dents to prove the difficulty of the trails...

When this happened to me it was caused by an alternator gone bad due to a critter chewing through the insulation on a wire. The wire contacted the engine block and shorted the alternator. Not cheap to fix.

You're gonna have rubbing issues offroad for sure. Perhaps even occasionally onroad. If you can't trim then you better lift. The Cornfed top spacer is a good choice.

Especially when compared to the Pirelli Scorpions I had on before. Generally I'm not spinning wheels unless I want to or the mud is deep and steep.
