How many do you want to add? I think this is one of the greatest features that those of us with LFD racks for several years have found.... You can add/remove/move crossbars to suit your specific needs

As 007Tacoma said, they are intended to hold the jack front/back... I've used the mounts to hold the jack in a few different positions on my full length rack (and even in the bed channels of my Tundra), but now on the 4Runner it lives on the rear bumper. Also, I hope the 42" works well for...

Yep, I'm just over 2 years with my full length rack and literally cannot say enough good things about it. The truck lives outside 24/7, doesn't get babied, and has carried all sorts of things on the rack without a single issue.
