    65 mph vibration a typical 4Runner problem?

Sometimes it can be the road, or dirt on your tires, rocks in the tread, or even radial tires can flat spot a little. If it's anything more than slight, the tires could be slightly out of balance, 1/4 oz off may do it, which is prob within a lot of tire shops margin of error. One tire of mine...

    Clunking from brakes. Not driveshaft?

Had this happen on a few cars. Like the other poster said it’s the springs or may be be pads getting loose after awhile. Not really something to be too concerned about imo, I prob put 50k on a set of pads that did this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How long do 4th gens usually last?

Will last a long long time. However 3k oil change is throwing money away. Actually that may be causing more wear as Ive read some extremely geeky people discuss how oil lubricates better after it is used a bit...to a point. Drain and fill of the transmission and diff would be a good idea. Just...

    Brake Pad replacement only?

Give it a whirl with just the pads. The first time I did that I ended up replacing the rotors 6 months later as there was some pulsing. But if you do it yourself it’s super easy. Next two times I just replaced the pads. No pulsing, but now a few years later they squeal in reverse and the...

    2003 V8 Hitch rating

What he said...also the AirLift company makes them as well. That's the one I used and has been great.

    2003 V8 Hitch rating

Yup, I have some air bags that have been trouble free for 6 years or so. Probably only filled them 3 or 4 times. The setup is not a rocket ship, but it works, even up mountains.

    2003 V8 Hitch rating

I’ve read that WDH are not for boat trailers. I don’t know why but likely because of but low tongue weight of boat trailers. 5400 lbs dry weight here, before the trailer. Been towing boats like this for a decade with the ‘04 V8. I do have the frame mounted hitch and the oil cooler...stock...

250,000 miles: Should it stay or should it go?

Yea, you'll save a ton of money keeping her vs buying something newer. Even with 250K on her she will give you less trouble than many cars that you could buy slightly used or even brand new. I bet you'd see a car lot trying to sell that for 7 or 8K, which is ridiculous (but not ridiculous) for a...

When to have the alignment done

Don’t do it unless you are having issues. They can’t correct a problem that doesn’t exist but they sure as heck can cause a problem or they can just take your money and do nothing. Heck send me the money and I’ll align it over the Internet for ya. LOL

    Bent axle

Are we talking inches or degrees here? Mine has to be at least a couple degrees out on one side.

    Bent axle

Ah. A lot of people complain about sliding on surfaces if they don't have full time awd. I can't imagine a bent axle would change that a whole lot, but I could be wrong. Tire wear doesn't lie if its happening quickly and all are inflated correctly, etc. So that's good to look at.

    Bent axle

So I checked the thread but are you having any symptoms? I wacked a curb going completely sideways at about 20mph. I thought I would have knocked my tire clear off. The tire looks cocked in a little but the dealer said they saw no damage, but didn’t align it. I bet if they put it on a rack it...

    My Father's Concern

I’d would also argue that between a 4Runner at 200k miles vs a brand new domestic vehicle, that the 4Runner will have less issues over the next 100k Miles even though it’s so much older. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
