I actually know the tech and am friends with the service manager. I was actually with the tech during the ECGS bushing install and he did fill it up and used OEM Toyota gear oil. Now when the diff was replaced I was not around for that, so it’s possible.

Not me, the tech. It makes a ton of noise in either 4wd or 2wd, does not go away as your typical needle bearing noise which I’ve had before.

According to the tech the diff itself is bad and he has a lot coming in for replacement. I had worse noise than just what the needle bearing noise was.

You’ll have to swap your plug from your lights to the new ones by unpinning the connectors. Takes about 5 min total. But the rest of it is standard uninstall and reinstall.

So my second front diff even with the ECGS bushing has failed after a year and a half. Toyota is putting a third diff in and it’s getting the ECGS bushing installed. Has anyone else had this happen?

You just need the lights from a TRD offroad or sr5 premium for 2021, unpin the connectors from the new ones and your old lights and swap them. It literally takes a couple of minutes for a complete swap per headlight. There’s a YouTube video out there to walk you through it.

One thing to note is that all 22’s have LED high and low beams. These won’t work plug and play with pre-2020 and 2021 trd offroad and SR5 models.

Did this yesterday, got a set off marketplace for cheap, they aren’t perfect, but mine aren’t either. Took me about 5 min to swap the connectors and then another 45 to swap headlights. This blows away the XD HID’s I had in the halogen housings.

No issues when installing mine, took about 45 minutes going slow. Ratcheting wrenches help a lot.

Mike, my rear axle is shifted to the passenger side by about 1/2-3/4”. I watched the video on the adjustable pan hard bar, however, once I adjust it, how would I recenter the axle to bolt this in place?

I found them on FB marketplace from a gentleman about 3.5 hours from me. They have some light scratches on one, but not broken or anything. I paid $390 shipped for both which is extremely uncommon. I’d say you’re looking at anywhere from 800-1400 for a set.
