I have a 2010 SR5 with 3rd row seat. The measurement is 31-3/8" at the opening and 34-1/4" at the highest point. I also have the cargo area carpet, which is maybe 1/4" thick.

Just in case someone checks on this thread later, here is the follow up email I sent and the response: Sounds awesome for a $250 rack that bolts to the factory rails. Their email responses were courteous and prompt, but I have yet to purchase anything from them, so I have no experience there.

I guess I got the 300 lbs from gobi racks, not Toyota. Gobi says the capacity is 300 lbs, that must be the capacity of the factory roof rack mounting points, since their rack could handle way more than that. Basically, I was looking at the RR rack as a replacement for the factory cross bars...

here is the email, and the response I received: Sounds good. But looking at it now, I realize he didn't say the rack was ON a 4Runner when guys were jumping on it...guess I should follow up.

Definitely 2". Are you sure the hitch you placed in there was 2"?

Also I think the large rocker panel covers on the SR5 / LE make it harder to add sliders, although some manufacturers are working around this I believe. To me the factory roof rails on the TE look sturdier as well, not sure if the capacity backs up that statement.

Funny, in another thread I was trying to figure out if the Rocky Road Outfitters roof rack system can hold 300 lbs when bolted to the factory rails, it seems to me that's what they are implying. At any rate, I saw they sell a water / fuel can accessory for the rack, along with some other cool...

Checking out the roof rack system for 5th's from Rocky Road Outfitters, they claim with their rack the weak point is now the roof, which to me implies a 300 lb limit, even though their rack bolts directly to the factory rails. I thought the factory rails had the same 130 lb limit as the factory...

What crossbar and rail adaptor set up are you using? How is the fit? Thanks.
