Done lock ifs front u will blow cv joints if u lift and want more superlift has a 4" but ifs front doesn't give more ground clearance not many 3.0 power options cuz its a **** and known for blowing headgaskets gears are a must if u go taller tires cuz u will lose low end unless in 4 low

Hate to tell ya but back down here in Tucson is a great pull ur own salvage yard off contractors and Michigan they have about 20 toys including 4runner bought inner rendered rear window motor and complete under dash climate control box for 120 not gonna mention other stuff that fell in tool box...

Also check intake tubes maybe letting air in behind mass air flow not to mention check ur timing

If its the v6 could be bad water pump and possible timing belt due to skipping a tooth these are picky on timing one Toth or few degrees and no power

Actually answer is no price is cheaper and mechanical puts out slot of com as far as air movement if u wheel slot I'd say electric and mechanical is good idea cuz at low speeds mechanical lacks cooling but electric makes that up

If the motor smoking is the 3.0 then head gasket has failed highly common took me total of 18hrs and 600 dollars to do mine not easy for beginning wrencher if its 22re then slot easier is it running rough? The exhaust is very captive so to speak took 3 hrs of driving before my smoke went away...

well in all honesty 3.o's are gutless and regretfully have head gasket issues id do compression test on it b4 trying any modifications

if you dont have the lovely red dials on ur hubs sayin aisin then u got an add front end and if it is the case where u have the add then no u will not need spindle kit u will just need hubs

fourwd1 is right and so is everyone else switch to manual hubs best thing u will ever do not to mention u willl have less moving while going down road glad to hear u have moved into the 4wd side of life theres alot more out there when u leave the pavement lol

i did cold air intake new muffler etc to mine to increase mileage and to be honest thats all your gonna get might get better by changing or cleaning a few things but for the weight vs. power our runners have ur not gonna get a gas sipping 4wd lol. seeing yours reminds me of when i bought mine...

wow ur 4runner story sounds all too familiar sad thing is i still havent been able to part with mine just only drive it 2000 miles a year now all offroad lol

another possibility is the valve on airbox that controls air mixture might be sticking mine was doing same thing looked under dash where heater box is and found when lever is slid to full heat arm only moves 1/2 way moved it rest of way with my hand and wow did it get warm " just an idea"

if u crank the tbars for that extra inch ur gonna be stiff as heck up front id do bj spacers since u will have everything apart in changing tbars just keep in mind the more u lift front the worse ur cv angle will be not to mention tie rod ends will be at an xtreme angle unless u do pitman arm...
