What did you do with your 4runner today?

Yes I had to solder the PLCC LEDS in. No way around that. Got 100 LEDS for about $5 on ebay. Probably took me about a hour start to finish. Also tested them in the car before I put everything back together.

Got rid of that hideous orange in the gauge cluster. Swapped them to nice and bright white LEDS. Sorry cell phone pic.

    Just bought a 2008 4Runner V8 - questions, advice??

I wired it up to the accessory fuse so its only on when the car is. If i need to shut it off I can just hit the power button on the unit itself.

Duratracs, BFG All Terrains, or your input

Just bought these. BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A $150 a tire at sams club after 50 instant rebate when you buy 4. They look a lot better in person and have good reviews. Aggressive tread but quiet on the highway w/ 50k warranty.

What I did is use a hardwire kit. Pretty simple to install in the fuse box and run the wires. hard wire radar | eBay

How To: Upgrading to Sport Brakes (319 to 338mm)

The calipers were dragging but all the pistons were at the same length. (no side was worn down more than another on the pads)There is quite a difference. Before I could not get the ABS to activate doing a panic stop. Now I can. Tires are the same. Tires also play the biggest part in braking if I...

How To: Upgrading to Sport Brakes (319 to 338mm)

For the backing plates. I just hit them with a hammer to bend back a little(knew I forgot something) I also don't have a limited I don't know what I have. I have 17" limited rims and had 16inch calipers. No hood scoop. No X-reas. I have leather two tone leather seats with stitching that says...

How To: Upgrading to Sport Brakes (319 to 338mm)

It was quite confusing reading all the threads about different brake sizes and sport vs non sport. My truck came with 17"s so i assumed I had sport brakes. Well I was wrong. Easiest way to check is to look on the back of the caliper for the letters (WH, WL, WG) or the numbers (16, or 17).

How To: Upgrading to Sport Brakes (319 to 338mm)

I have successfully upgraded my brakes from the smaller 319mm rotors and calipers (WL/WG) to the larger 338mm Rotors and 13WH Calipers. I figured since my calipers were frozen and I don't know the last time the brakes were done I would start with a clean slate. **YOU MUST HAVE 17 INCH RIMS TO...
