I'm not sure, but I think Fo_Sheezy's HU is the factory unit, and the factory surround.
I do have a different dash kit that seems like it would look better, but it's for the JBL w/ RDS cars where the radio fills the whole space that's black in the cars with the 'regular' JBL systems.
I'd love...
Yeah it does seem to take a long time to boot up, I've been doing some reading over at avic411.com and I'm hoping to make some tweaks to decrease the boot time.
I pulled the driver's side a-pillar trim to route the mic wire, that turned out to be much easier than expected as once the grab handle is removed it slides right off by just pulling the top towards you and wiggling a little to free it from the dash.
I have to find some stronger tape to hold...
We're planning to take the 4R on a road trip this month (NY <> FL :D ) so I decided it was time to do something about navigation and better iPod/MP3 integration.
I decided to go with the Pioneer AVIC-F90BT because it had all the features I wanted at a reasonable price.
Our SE has the...
It looks similar to the sector29 unit and PAC TATO, just uses Front L/R and Rear L/R pre-outs on the HU. If the HU has a separate subwoofer output it will still be available for an additional amp/sub.
PAC includes a harness for the SWI-PS with the correct connector and resistor in their TATO kit. If you don't need the JBL module maybe you could contact them and see if they'll sell just that harness.
I'm preparing to install an FB90T right now, using the PAC SWI-PS for steering wheel controls and TATO to hook up to the JBL amp.
One nice thing about this is that the TATO comes with a harness that plugs into the R1/R12 connector to power the HU and includes a harness for the SWI-PS which...
Thanks guys, I guess I should have given a bit more info about the expected use.
Right now the worst the 4runner is likely to see will be deep snow in the upstate NY winter. Unfortunately my wife has put her foot down regarding off-roading, at least until the truck is 'worn in' a little ;)...
Forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I'm shopping around for a set of new tires for our 05 V8 Sport. I intend to install a 2/1 lift and upsize to 265/70R17 on all 5 rims. This is all pretty straightforward.
However, I see that many of the tires this size come in both an LT and P-metric...
Thanks for the comments! We're very happy with the car and I think the V8 was a good decision.
We got really lucky with this car, it has everything we wanted including the remote keyless and the JBL, moonroof, wheel locks, etc.

Hi All,
My wife and I just picked up our 'new' 2005 Sport Edition V8 on Saturday!
It's in perfect condition with only 11k miles and we couldn't be happier with it.
So far I've ordered a set of all-weather floor mats and cargo mat, to keep it nice during the Syracuse...
