2nd Gen aftermarket parts hard to find?

Ouch on the price. When I add all the goodies I'd want $1200.

    Old Alarm issues

I thought I'd post a followup. The alarm store took it all out for $35. It now starts without the slight hesitation (half second or so) it always had when turning the key. This should have been done right when I bought it.

    Old Alarm issues

Thanks guys. After looking at wiring under the dash I talked to an alarm store owner and he said he could disable it. I don't want to mess with it. Then I will put in a fuel cut off switch.

    Old Alarm issues

My 91 runner has a MaxiGuard 3 alarm for which I have no remote for. If I disable the battery it will set off the alarm when I reconnect power. This requires a juggle of button pushing and key turning till it will start and I haven't nailed down the sequence, I just get lucky eventually. I hate...

95 4x4 upper & lower control arm bushings replacement HELP!!! and rear bushings???

I never said poly doesn't work, and I'm sure you have wonderful pictures of your truck perhaps even award winning. What I did say was rubber has more give and a smoother ride because of it. Given the life of a set of new bushings I'll most likely never need to replace them again. For my needs...

    Performance Mods for 1991 4Runner

My 91 v6 is very slow. However it's also not my daily driver and I don't care. This is my slow down and explore truck. Off road it has PLENTY of get up and go. I have 4.56 gears, 32 tires.

95 4x4 upper & lower control arm bushings replacement HELP!!! and rear bushings???

I don't like poly bushings for off road. They don't have the same flex as rubber and give a harsher ride. Granted that might be great for a street car but when rough stuff is concerned give me rubber, even if they do wear out faster. That's of course just my opinion for the sake of open dialog...

95 4x4 upper & lower control arm bushings replacement HELP!!! and rear bushings???

Control arms at Rock Auto are 109 each with bushings and balljoints. Ready to bolt on. The Bushing and ball joints add up to $75

95 4x4 upper & lower control arm bushings replacement HELP!!! and rear bushings???

I found that buying the upper control arms new, with ball joints and bushings already installed, was almost the same price as the parts alone (ball joints and bushings alone). That way I also had no need to mess with replacing the bushings, just unbolt old, instal new, get alignment.

1990 v6 starts then shuts down after 1 second

I'd pay for a diagnostics at this point. $100 to get the answer would be worth it.

Any chance you unplugged the plug that goes to the air box? Mine did that till I remembered that plug. Fired right up after.
