Installed: Rola low-profile mounts on 5th Gen

6 years in, mine is holding up great, so glad I didn't waste a bunch of money on a 'fancy' rack!

Anyone running the Cooper AT3-XLT tires yet?

Eh, I'm happy with a true AT tire with good performance (esp. in rain!) looking a bit less 'off-roady' in the sidewall; all the grocery-getters sporting KO2s around here just look stupid.

    2016-2020 4runner differences

At least for 2016 models, Traill Premium/KDSS shocks had different part numbers than SR5 shocks. No idea what they are doing these days with all the goofy variants making it hard to decipher which model has what.

I have not, but if you're wondering if it'll take the weight, etc., it absolutely will.

    Airstream towing

We tow a T@b 400 (~3000-3200 pounds actual tow weight) here in CO, and would not want it to be any heavier. You need to get used to screaming around at 4000+ rpm in this thing, and only use it in 'S' mode (we never use 5th gear). We use a brake controller but no sway control, and hav only found...

Anyone running the Cooper AT3-XLT tires yet?

I got about 50k out of the first set of Cooper AT3s (275, C), and have had the newer version (AT3 LT, 275, E) on my '16 for about 10k now. So far all eight tires have balanced well, worn well, have great traction in the rain, and do great off-road. This newer 'LT' version rides a bit smoother...

Let's see your Travel Trailer Combo's

T4R and T@b400 Here's a few since agonizing over whether the 4Runner can pull a trailer in CO (it can, but you gotta drive it like you stole it):

    2016-2020 4runner differences

I know you stated what you are looking for, but do yourself a favor and go to a dealer and drive an SR5 vs. a TRD OR. The SR5 has ridiculous, and I do mean ridiculous nosedive; you'll feel it in the parking lot before you even get on the road. Yes, you can replace shocks, and if you do you...

Installed: Rola low-profile mounts on 5th Gen

Wow, nice work! Glad to see this thread is still going after all this time! My rack is still going strong, still hasn't sucked in any water, though recently had to remove it because one of the Rotopax mounts broke. Gave it a good once-over, and other than looking a bit weathered, it's still rock...

I wrapped it in black satin, not cheap, but looks great.

Brake controller no power? 2011 factory plug

Thank you! Wow, has this been an infuriating process! I got the P3 installed, and it was completely dead. Before going down the fuse route, I checked the continuity of the wires of the 3041-P harness adapter, and the red wire was bad (showed high resistance). I split the loom to look at the...

Tow in CO? Need help settling on trailer GVWR!

OK, Off2Mtns, nearly two years later I figured you deserved a pat on the back. Not that I have a trailer yet, but we did finally put a deposit down on a T@B400 Boondock Lite w/solar and microwave delete. Your detailed input really helped my thought process along the way, and I think we found a...

By the way, we finally settled on a small travel trailer, and am going through vehicle weight/laoding to see where we are at. In doing so, I determined that on my heaviest White Rim trip, the rack was carrying 225 pounds (not including the 45# weight of the rack). Yes I know, way above the...

You should produce them and sell them for half the price! I'll be you'd have many buyers...
