For those that go to the stealership for service. I promised the service director at Lewisville Toyota I’d be sharing a lesson they taught me. Might be common knowledge to most folks but here it is.
lesson learned: If you go to the dealership for scheduled service, especially Lewisville...
Thanks for the reply but I think I'm all fixed up now. Took it to a great toyota off-road shop and alignment is perfected and now have plenty of hose and coil clearance after adjusting the UCAs outboard.
Any indication that they are shipping everyone a new bottom mount. Just received my today and it is wrong too so seems likely that everyone is going to need a new one.
FYI- Just received email with DHL tracking info for my ladder from ecotechne. Tracking shows "shipment info received" status on august 4th but no other event details or ETA.
Scott@Hightech - My passenger lower LCA cam bolts look to be maxed out and I'm still banging coil with the UCA. I have some outboard adjustment remaining in the UCA but we are afraid it'll end with tire sitting at positive camber. Any ideas?
FYI per icon support instructions the hose rub and coil/UCA contact problem solution is to adjust the upper and lower cambers to create more clearance between UCA and spring. He also gave some instructions on how to adjust the hose fittings to help with the geometry but I'm not gonna go that...
Thanks for the heads up. Didn't notice that. Is that an easy fix?
FYI per icon support instructions the hose rub and coil/UCA contact problem solution is to adjust the upper and lower cambers to create more clearance between UCA and spring. It's going back on the rack soon to adjust lower arm...
Might have found the source of the loud pop. No clue how myself and the installer couldn't find this before when we were searching for signs.
Passenger side. UCA has matching signs of contact:
2016 TE non-KDSS is rubbing driver front. Took it to installer and I think they twisted the resi to try and get clear but they still suggested a hose and zip tie fix...You guys see anything that looks off? Also trying to hunt down a serious sounding pop that can be heard from several trucks back...
I'll go ahead and fess up to this too. I really did a number on my top drip rail trying to even out the height of the rack. Nearly $400 worth of paintless dent repair later...DON'T REST ANYTHING ON OR PUT ANY SORT OF PRESSURE ON THAT TOP DRIP RAIL. DON'T EVEN LOOK AT IT!!
I'm not able to see your pics but if they are like the ones I friggin put in mine, then you should be good-to-go after several hundred bucks at the paintless dent repair shop. I was using screwdrivers and pry bars to adjust the height of the rack and used the drip rail as my fulcrum. I felt...
