I had the same problem between 20 and 25 miles per hour. I took the master mechanic at the dealer for a test drive and he told me it was the transmission and replaced it. He was right. Luckily I had an extended warranty.

Update: I took the car to the local Toyota Dealer. Took the tech out for a test drive to confirm the shudder. He had never experienced it before so he called tech support. They told him the tranny needed to be replaced. I have an extended warranty so the insurance company is footing the bill.

Thanks bagginz. I made an appointment with the local Toyota dealer. I have an extended warranty that covers the transmission and all components. The tech will go on a test drive with me to confirm the issue.

I hope it is an easy fix for you. I've spent some time trying to find similar issues with no luck. I talked to a friend today and his first hunch was a vacuum leak. I'm interested to hear what the transmission shop says.

I have had the same problem recently. Noticed it on slight upgrades between 20 and 30mph.

What size springs did you buy?
