Did the lamin-x films reduce output significantly of the LED bulbs? I was planning on going this route, OEM LED fogs with lamin-x yellow film for yellow output.

Agreed. They’re vehicles. Both will serve their purposes well of getting you from point A to point B and both are capable off-road. You’re not gaining/losing anything major that affects its primary function (third row, etc.) You need to decide if esthetics are worth 13k to you or are the other...

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try again with a heat gun. Adding more tape didn’t work for me, it just kept popping back off on the ends. Or maybe I’ll just screw it on too...

Does it sit flush? That’s what bothers me more.

Installed mine today from cartrim. It’s good but not great. There are pretty bad gaps and it doesn’t sit flush on the ends. Knowing that I’m OCD, I should have just gone with OEM and not a replica.

Just painted mine in SEM trim paint today. I don’t know if it will help/hurt with fade resistance but it sure looks better after being painted. Wish I had taken before/after.

I’ve had good luck with car-part.com, they search all wreck yards for used parts. More parts are available for early years but I always get OEM parts.

Did you end up getting it checked at the dealer? My ‘14 SR5’s A/C is weak. I can run it full blast and never get cold. My 3rd gen on the other hand blows ice cold air.

Has anyone figured this out? The noise is driving me crazy (like above posters, only happens at high speed and with heavy rain).

I’ll probably just install as is. The SEM will likely fade too. It may be worth it to paint if it fades significantly slower but I don’t have any experience with trim paint.

Which will fade faster: exposed plastic or SEM trim paint?
