    Lots of really high end bikes for sale used, if you know what to look for. The "wealthy" buy top of the line, and upgrade to newer etc every year...You can find $6K bikes for $2500 on pinkbike.com, craigslist etc. Ask a lot of questions if buying online, and try to stay away from used carbon frames.

    The top of the bed platform is 1/2" high grade birch ply. The legs or supports are 1" x 3 1/2" solid birch hardwood, cut to 6 ft lengths at Home Depot. The "pad" if you're asking about the sleeping pad, was a foam futon I got on craigslist. I had a brown one just like this, which is what I used...
