I hate the fact that there are no under dash lights on my '96 Runner. What is a good way to tie them in so that they come on when the doors open?

So I stop at the Golden Arches this morning and reclined the seat back a bit to get my wallet out of my pocket and the seat won't move now. I got that gang banger seat laid back problem. The mechanism works on one side but not the other. Anyone had this problem?
