The reason I mentioned it was that I have the same misfire code pop up sometimes and it seems as though the problem is a faulty head gasket. It is supposed to be a pretty common problem on 2004 models with the v6.

Hi all Since I bought my 2004 4Runner 3 years ago it had had badly faded headlights. I had thought about buying new ones but never got around to it. this morning I bought one of those headlight restoration kits from wally world and used it. Best $25 I ever spent. It worked beautifully.
