    2004 V8 Towing Maintenance Recommendations

I really appreciate the feedback. I actually haven't purchased the travel trailer yet. I have been reading up very closely about weights, etc. Although your insight is really helpful. I wrote 7000 lbs just to make the post simple. I understand that is the max weight including everything once the...

    2004 V8 Towing Maintenance Recommendations

Yes sir, I'm from Medford. Thanks for all of the advice. I am having two issues rights now that I'm wondering if you could provide some insight on: 1) The brakes are very spongy. I just had new pads and rotors put on but when I press the brake, I need to press harder and harder to get a...

    2004 V8 Towing Maintenance Recommendations

Not that I know of... I'm one of those that knows NOTHING about vehicles so I hate to bring things in because I feel like they are going to take me for a ride. But this sort of preventative maintenance is definitely something I need to do. I'm making a checklist... transmission fluid, check...

    2004 V8 Towing Maintenance Recommendations

Hey everyone... I have a '04 4Runner SR5 V8 Sport Edition with 105,000 miles. I have been diligent about my oil changes but that's about it. I've never done "regular scheduled maintenance" at the dealer and have been fixing things as they come up - which has been nothing but brakes pretty much...

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

I called around at the part actually does cost $550. Now the question becomes what does it actually do???? It's listed on my paperwork as "BLOCK ASSY, DRIVE". Part number 82730-35350.

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

Greetings Again. Well, after mannnny hours of trying to figure it out, I caved and brought it to the dealership. They claim it took them three hours to find what they think is the problem - an "integration relay", which they claim is $550 to replace. The said if this is the problem, my total...

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

HMMMMMMM - interesting. I attempted to be very flexible earlier today and get my head underneath the stearing wheel with my feet over the headrest (quite the workout!) I thought maybe I would see SOMETHING odd. I did see what appeared to be some kind of residue on a white\green wire going into...

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

ME TOO! We'll see, if my mechanic buddy can't help me I'll probably bring it to the dealer. I've done most of the work for them - can't be TOO hard to figure the rest for someone who knows what they're dong.

Eh - I kinda got the fuse block out. Enough to check the relays on the back. I can't get to it too closely though to check for the black spots. I'll try again tomorrow!

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

Here's the big update... the tail lights and the items that run on the "power 30A" circuit such as moon roof and windows are back up and running. The 50A one under the hood was blown, but I could swear it wasn't yesterday!! Humph. All I have to worry about now are the accessory fuses and the...

50A AM1 is good to go :( I was going to be wiring in LEDs, but I only got to the switch!

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

Sorry, I am calm - normally this wired. :) My buddy used a test light. The 7.5A ACC and the 10A Tail were both dead. And, they are on separate circuits. Maybe its possible I blue both the 50A AM1 and the 50A J/B - but I highly doubt since certain things connected to the J/B are actually...

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

Let's see... the tail lights operate on the TAIL Relay circuit... the accessories (stereo) run on the accessory circuit after the ignition switch. Two separate circuits, one PITA problem! gosh.

    04 4Runner Electrical Nightmare!

I just double checked... the 140A Alt fuse is good to go - as is the 10amp dome fuse. I swapped the tail relay and the power relay from the back of the driver side junction box and that didnt solve it, so the relays there are good. According the diagrams - one of these should be bad! lol So far...
