I don't think I would call the sound a bad wheel bearing makes a "rubbing noise." One might also expect the sound to increase and decrease while turning based on the weight transfer of the vehicle. Are there any other details about the sound you can provide like the sound itself, when it happens...

You can bet there was rust on the undercarriage and frame as well, hopefully it was taken care of correctly before the liner was put on. The front end and interior look real nice!

Griff007 Did you replace all the little vacuum hoses or did you check for vacuum leaks? Some other solutions I found for the surging idle pointed to vacuum leaks relating to the brake booster, one even from a leak around the idle speed screw. That was fixed with teflon tape.

What you pictured is the hose to boost the idle speed as to not lose giddy up at low RPMs while you're turning and the power steering system is under load. Did you try to reset the timing after reattaching the hose? Does the idle speed and quality change after the engine has warmed up or is it...

If you're just using it as a spare, it just needs to hold air. If you have five of the same tire, you can put it into rotation and increase the life of your entire set.

Yeah, get the codes. Have you checked for vacuum leaks, spark plugs and compression? If it isn't one of those, possible the fuel injectors.
