ah thats funny. Same idea though because in these 4runners there must be a channel from the roof down to where the floor carpet is so if water gets up there in any capacity it will do that. You should be good to go if you seal that up with some marine sealant or something! good luck

It might be related to the sunroof. I had the same thing where the floor carpet was wet but the rhino liners werent and realized one day it was snowing that the sunroof was leaking. It would only happen if I was parked downhill though
