thanks much for the response. i did put my iphone charger on it the next day and it charged up, thankfully, so I am guessing that it didn't get burnt out since it's still functional? Definitely a lessons learned. Yes it is stock. I'm glad a fuse didn't blow.

same on my new 16 sr5. called toyota headquarters, the tier 2 guy says this is the first time he's heard of it for a 16. called up 4 local toy dealerships service adviser none of them has a clue.

I've called 3 toy dealerships 1 said it's normal and there's nothing they can do about it, any previous fix does not work 1 has no clue nor has ever heard about it and asked to put a code reader on it and test it 1 has never heard of it neither but will look into it. ......sigh
