I know it's an old thread, but in case anyone stumbles across it trying to find a ladder that works with the Rhino Rack Pioneer platform - I ended up with ladder from Victory 4x4 and am able to open the hatch fully without touching the platform. Fully open, there is still ~3/4" gap.
I emailed Bajarack to ask them about clearance, and their response was that you need 3" between the top of the hatch when opened and the roof rack. With the pioneer platform installed I am just shy of 2" clearance. I have the platform centered on the attachment 'feet' of the backbone system, so...
