Hey guys, I just picked up another 4Runner. I traded my crappy 03 Honda Civic for this 1998 4Runner Limited 4x4 with locker (176K). Check out the pics! I plan on giving it a full tune up and doing the tundra brake upgrade this weekend! Enjoy!!!

I agree that the front sway bar should be disconnected if your wheeling, but this does not break them. Age and fatigue and rust is what forshadows the break. With new end links, you should not have to worry about breaking them. Just for any newbs out there..... Disconnecting the front sway bar...

As promised, here are the fixed images

I made custom mounts for my half length Rola Vortex rack. The mounts are 6061 T6 aluminum. They use the existing factory threaded M6 holes. I will be refining them a bit. I'm going to try and add aluminum side bars running from mount to mount on either side of the runner. See pics below

Honestly, I really didn't notice the difference. The only thing it stopped was the clunking. The only reason I fixed them so quick is because my wife drives the runner and she nannies for two small children. If Toyota put them in there to stop excessive body roll then I'm keeping them in there...

Hello all, I heard a clunk (metal on metal) when ever I hit a pot hole or uneven road surface. Took a quick look under the rig and found this And this was the drivers side I replaced them both, new pictures to follow this morning. Total cost was $40 bucks. Where I live is quite rusty so...

Yeah I've read about taking out the bottom seats, but it wasn't necessary for us. I believe there is a quick release kit for sale by Sonoran? Maybe? But I could easily fab something up just as well. I liked having the bottom seats though so my pillows wouldn't fall to the floor.

On the chopped surf, I think there should be a dip in the tailgate. Also, the tail light on the version I'm picturing should bring the body lines slightly down in the back (chamfered). I've seen this on mossyrocks over on pirate. The Mossy Runner build: phase II - Pirate4x4.Com & Choppin up...
