I think you are probably just better off taking it in.

So you are saying that your MAINT light and the VSC / Enging Lights are all on at the same time? I am not a tech, nor an engineer, but base on what I have read, this is my guess. I think it has to do with the design of the wiring or the sensors that control the VSC. Something is upsetting...

I don't know why, all i know is if I DON'T reset the MAINT light, the VSC / Engine lights stop acting weird. So I'm leaving it on.

Just thought this was funny. Alot of older worn out vehicles aren't even putting 45-50 hp to the wheels :) That's quite a bit difference, but I do agree that the V6 is plenty for most. I can only suggest the V8 for towing duty or the sweet sweet melody!

Could you post a pic of your Fortuner? I'd like see what you've got down there in Fiji. I think the easiet way to tell is by the wheel lugs. From what I recall Fortuners and RX's both have 5 lug. 4Runner, Tacoma, GX, Prado, all have 6 lug.
