Confirmed: 2014 4Runner to get changes

I share similar thoughts about what is anticipated with the exception of the diesel. The increase of diesel prices at the pump due to more restrictive fuel standards and other reasons, will discourage many to go that route, unless tax incentives are introduced to offset the cost premiums. I...

    $40,000 in Gas

Your argument is quite correct from a sustainability point of view. As it is well known that a durable well maintained vehicle even with an 8 Cylinder engine is far more sustainable to the environment than a newly manufactured hybrid. That goes with new buildings too versus existing stock. But...

    $40,000 in Gas

Being green is not limited to emissions, but glad to hear your point nonetheless. Here is what it means to be green in building construction, and I think it is the same in car manufacturing. Being green means: 1. Efficiency 2. Durability 3. Low embodied energy 4. Lower environmental impact 5...

As it is mentioned, landscape shots need smaller aperture to obtain deep depth of field which brings it to sharp focus, and a tripod with a remote trigger, or a timer. But, I wouldn't go above F/11 in most cases, to maintain sharpness. But, there is also an important aspect in landscape...

    $40,000 in Gas

KCcarguy, I don't want to address the dismissive tone in calling it offtopic and ridiculous, as it will really get offtopic, but will address it in an informative way for the benefit of others, just as I am benefitting from the spread of knowledge around here. It has nothing to do with big...

Allow me to tap into this. There is quite a wide range of things one can get and enjoy out of photography. For some it is capturing the moment and the memory, for others it is about capturing realism in the most perfect manner, while others seek qualities beyond reality, employing artistic...

    $40,000 in Gas

CO2 emissions issue is not debatable, besides if you like to discuss it, you are welcome to pm me and I will respectfully introduce myself and have a conversation. As far as I know, Toyota plans to introduce 14 new hybrids by 2015. I am ignorant of car technology and its jargon of direct...

    $40,000 in Gas

That's more than 60,000 pounds of CO2 emissions. I am loathed by my son for not getting a hybrid. Too bad hybrid T4Rs are not in production yet.

Leftover 2012 Limited - How much? (Canadian Buyers)

I looked into stats before deciding on my SR5/13. T4R is not only the best of all Toyotas in retaining higher resale value, but has stunning "safety" record. Got mine from Alberta, with 9km on it, negotiated $2k off and am a satisfied customer so far. Best of luck.

Sudden slow down braking system behavior

eddiebx ; wow, this never occurred to me, and quite possibly it is, since the sensation of a sustained braking post releasing the pedal was very evident. Which means engine is participating in the braking system too !! The RPM has another oddity which I am investigating now, and will report...

Sudden slow down braking system behavior

JB.; I agree, I need to verify this. In my last 28 years of driving, I could tell when my car decides to be the driver instead of being driven :) Having said that, I am all for extra safety features on the road. Driving culture is getting nastier every year.

Sudden slow down braking system behavior

1engineer, this is precisely what I am referring to, is to be able to slow down at a longer distance. In this case I am referring to past experience with my Audi, to avoid sudden lock up and slippage on wet and bumpy intersections. But, you are correct otherwise, if it is an emergency, I would...

Sudden slow down braking system behavior

I would like to experiment with this, because in the past I used to do intermittent braking to override the ABS on wet conditions to avoid losing control. Now with this new feature, I would love to know how to override it, considering my jolty reflexes, which had often made my wife startle.
