I had a similar thud in my truck that I couldn't locate and it turned out to be the sway bar bushings. I have KDSS so it is a bit different but I would check them. My "old" bushings were visually identical to the new ones i put in but they were a bit harder. Once replaced the thud was gone...

General consensus is OEM. I usually buy Akebono because they are the OEM for Toyota and usually are less expensive than the Toyota branded part. Without more upgrades just stick with OE brake setup.

Yes you need an on off on DPDT switch.

Yes you need either two SPST or one DPDT. With the the DPDT you would have up as front cam and down as back cam and middle normal operation.
