That is correct, there is no "4 HI" light. Under normal operation, when you switch the dial to 4H, the green drivetrain light should come on and stay solid green. From what you've described, it does sound like the actuator was not regularly used which would explain why neither 4H or 4L is...

Old thread but I'm curious if anyone knows whether the wiring for the RCSA runs through the front 4wd control module?

Incredibly useful write up (yes I'm thanking you seven years later). I am having a fascinating issue with my 4wd where it will only engage if I disable RSCA. I'm baffled.

Super helpful diagram, I am trying to understand my 07 Ltd 4wd system -- includes the RSCA button, which for some reason I now have to engage to go into 4H. More to come.
