My 2019 4runner that I bought new has a whining rear differential since day one. I took it in and complained, and they replaced the differential under warranty. The new one whines just like the old one, but I’ve since put on a Gobi rack and the wind noise from it kinda drowns out the whining...

I did this install a couple of months ago in anticipation of receiving my new Hiker trailer in November. The install was easy, and the small knob that installs in the factory cutout is SO much nicer than the large knee knocker controller on my 1997 4runner!

“Supply Chain Issues”….Translation: The latest excuse being used to send more $ to the top 1%. Eventually, the USA will look like some South American country where 90% of the people live in poverty and and the top 10% are in mansions with iron fences, gates, and security.

Same reason a Hershey bar is half the size it used to be for the same price. Another way for all $ to move to the top 1%.

I installed my Gobi Stealth rack in October according to the instructions which do not call for sealant. No leaks so far. Curious if any other Gobi rack owners have had leaks if they followed Gobi’s instructions?

I second this, or…I installed a set of Toyota Predator steps, since I don’t 4wheel either ( mine is 2wd also). I put them on so my wife could get in more easily. Also, they’re aluminum so no rust.

I posted earlier about the dealer replacing the differential and it making absolutely no difference in the whine. I have since put on a Gobi rack which makes enough noise to partially mask the differential whine. LOL

Yeah, still waiting on my backpack. Ordered rack in March and received it in October. Backpack on backorder. No response to email.

I had to replace my passenger side mirror last month after it was destroyed by an overturned road sign. I used a YouTube video and it went like clockwork, except for door panel clips that fall out, but the video addressed that issue so I was ready for it.
