You are correct. For the same applied load and resulting ride height, the lower spring rate (squishier) spring will be need to be longer/taller when unloaded. This simple assessment only works so cleanly when analyzing linear rate springs.

Is it water or coolant? I think the heater core is relatively above the gas pedal… I would expect the drain line to leak on your left foot, not right. And as you said they are clean and clear.
