Is there a button near the bottom of your speedometer? I see you are in a TE with nav. I'm in an SR5 with no nav. I would assume however that you still have an old school button that cycles your instrument cluster info from odometer to trip A, B...etc. You hit that button until your avg MPG...

No drawback that I could think of. Unless you're really concerned about knowing your average MPG collectively from the time you bought the truck.

Same as you would a tripometer. You just hit the trip button until it cycles to your current average MPG on the dash and hold the button until it clears. I reset my trip A and MPG each time I fill up.

This happened to me as well. I'm at 9,500 miles now and estimated mileage has risen to 405 and is steady there. The trick is to reset your mpg when you fill up every time. I took this advice from another member here on a different thread and it has worked for me. Took a few tanks for it to take...
