The resonator should be easy. Use the extra pipe with a flange (probably the short one if you have a V8) and have a glass pack welded in. A muffler shop I went to used old fashioned straight glass packs as resonators and said they work well. I was told that a resonator between the cat and the...
I would look at one of the michelins in 275/70/16. I have nitto 404's in 275/65/17 and they fit and look good. I think an offroad tread would look better on a 16" rim but might be noisy on the hwy.
I bought the nitto 404's in 275-65-17 and they work well. I have only driven them on dry pavement. I don't know if they fit in the spare tire well (they are 31" tall) but they fill the wheel wells very well and the extra width looks good. The 275-60-18's are almost identical dimensions.
you need the octane to be able to crank up the timing. all they can do is turn up the timing and lean the mixture to get more power and you need premium fuel to do it.
Jaos uses two mufflers and TRD has a muffler with a resonator in front of it. It sounds like these are the two least offensive catbacks available. It has been said that a simple super turbo muffler installed in the stock system sounds right but my exhaust guy says that those are cheap quality...
Spider,
If you get the magnaflow cat back and the drone is too much, you might consider welding a round muffler/resonator in front of the muffler. I am considering that route with a magnaflow 2.5" 4 inch round 14" long. I don't have the Magnaflow yet but I think there is room and you should be...
I have been doing some research and have been told that a resonator in front of the muffler would eliminate the drone better. I think a great system would be a magnaflow catback with a resonator welded in just behind the flange. This is really what the TRD is I think because the picture I saw of...
I am assuming that you are using the stock resonator. Do you have any drone or interior vibration under partial throttle in the 1500-2000 rpm range? Full throttle sounds good.
So far I have searched this forum and not found anyone with a performance exhaust that does not drone under acceleration in the 1500-2000 rpm range. My exhaust guy says a 22" magnaflow with the stock resonator retained would be reasonably quiet inside the vehicle. Has anyone put an aftermarket...
