Hard to say.... low mileage is always nice, but it doesn't always guarantee a well kept vehicle. Father time can be just as tough on vehicle components as mileage.
Some Central Florida 4runners that are reasonably priced.(if you're willing to travel)
Here's a really nice looking deal in Orlando http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1131248396.html
Another Orlando add..... dealer, mileage not listed(cause for suspicion)...
How recently was the car put on the market? Sometimes sellers need a reality check on their asking price. I picked up my 2000 SR5 2wd with 130K for $5000 a few months ago, and it sounds as though it was in similar running/cosmetic condition to the 4Runner you're looking at. My trucks original...
I think the cure was the realization that I am being paranoid. It runs great, and the timing is still dead on. It's just a bit noisey.... which seems to be a trait of this motor anyways.
I know I could have gone a bit further, but it was the original T-belt and it had 135K miles on it. It had moderate cracking and there were signs of corrosion underneath the water pump... so I figured it was a great time to do it.
It's possible, as there was quite a bit of corrosion/dirt built up on the near the tensioner.
Could I access the tensioner by simply removing the A/C compressor/bracket, or do I have to pull everything apart again? Thank god you only have to do this every 60-90K miles.
Another odd thing that I'm not sure if I should be too concerned about is that the belts markings that line up with the cam gears notches and the timing gear on the crank have moved several teeth to the left of their original placement. These marks were aligned before and after the tensioner was...
I just replaced the timing belt and water pump on my 2000 4runner, and I seem to be getting a droning noise from the front of the engine. The noise is quiet enough to were it may just be my paranoia after performing the T-Belt swap(first time), but I thought I'd run it by the Toyota Gods before...
