    X-REAS Leak

To remove the X-REAS, I disconnected the hydraulic lines from the front shocks, the front fittings on the center pressure devices on each frame rail, and removed it all from the vehicle. I used a saw-all to cut a bracket behind the rear wheel well that holds the line near the rear shocks. It...

    URGENT HELP! Trunk Issues!

I don't know if this helps, but my '03 has a plastic panel on the inside of the tailgate. Take it off and it gives you access to the latch mechanism. You can then try to manually release the tailgate and see if it will open.

    X-REAS Leak

Follow-up on my origninal posting. Dealer said it would cost close to $800.00 to replace 2 lines! The parts guy unofficially suggested I just take off the X-REAS and replace it with 4 shocks. The dealer had no intention of helping me with this matter since the vehicle was out of warranty. I...

    X-REAS Leak

I am going to have the dealer take a look tomorrow, but I think I am going to end up taking the X-REAS off the vehicle and use standard shocks. I am not interested in a raise kit. Rock Auto has some KYB shocks, and I wonder if I need to change springs too? Has anyone else done this? The...

    X-REAS Leak

I have fluid leaking from the center control absorber on the drivers side. Has anyone replaced this component of the X-REAS system? Does it need to go to the dealer for recharging or can it be done at home? Thanks for any input.

4th Gen Tailgate problem - HELP!

If you don't remove the inside plastic panel, there is a square plastic cover on the inside of the tailgate. If you gain access thought the cover, you will need to cut through the sheet of plastic film under it. Near the center, bottom portion of the tailgate there is a plastic enclosed latch...

4th Gen Tailgate problem - HELP!

I actually fixed this problem. Once the gears were aligned, I had to re-initalize the rear window. I also needed to reset the ECU by pulling the fuse.

4th Gen Tailgate problem - HELP!

Living in upstate NY has given me a frozen tailgate latch problem. I took it all apart and free'd up the latch with PB Blaster and then greased it. Now it will only unlatch by using the internal release! Does anyone know how to check the electronic module or check the gear alignment on the...

    Belt noise?

The serpentine belt on my '03 V-6 was making noise. I took it off and cleaned the pulleys with brake cleaner. Use plenty of rag. It's been quiet ever since. Might be a good idea to make a diagram of the belt routing first if you do this.

    Helicopter Sound from Underneath

Check out the aluminum heat shields underneath. One may be loose. I had one that corroded where the nuts hold it on to the studs. I re-fastened it with oversize aluminum washers. Could be the source of your noise.

Along the same lines...has anyone had experience with Nokian SUV tires? They come in the 17"size, and make some fine passenger car tires.
