    AC starts in re-circulation mode

So, I stopped by the dealer today. They didn't know, of course, but they confirmed that a few 4Runners they had in the back did the same thing. Basically, the official answer I got from a Toyota Certified technician is "That's how they probably are programmed to do. I am not sure why"... Case...

    LED headlight question

These LED kits appear to be priced in the same range as HID (if not higher). Are they worth the price of HIDs are the way to go off spending $150 on "upgrade"? Last time I checked the comparisons, LEDs were not much brighter and whiter than OEM lights and light was getting lost quicker than...

    AC starts in re-circulation mode

Yes, this is what I mean. It, luckily, doesn't revert back to Recirc after switched to outside air - it it did, I'd be seriously pissed - but it always seem to start in recirc if the engine is turned off while AC is on. I even took a video to make sure I am explaining myself correctly...

    AC starts in re-circulation mode

Unless I'm not looking in the right place, I don't see it - the manual specifies that it's how it's supposed to work when "Max A/C" is selected (see page 278): http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM35B18U/pdf/OM35B18U.pdf Now, given that what you're saying is precisely how it works...

    AC starts in re-circulation mode

I always make sure it's not on "Max A/C". This is why I was suspecting that the switch maybe defective. However, it it's the case for everybody else (or so it seems), this is probably by design. The manual, however, specifies that this is the behavior for "Max A/C". Go figure...

    AC starts in re-circulation mode

According to the manual that's how the system is supposed to work in "Max A/C" mode

    AC starts in re-circulation mode

I forgot to mention that it's a TE, so no "target" temperature or any sort of automatic climate control. I guess my "almost every time" indicates some weird glitches, which, unless I can figure out how to duplicate them on demand, I'd have to live with. It is annoying as I often use it when...

    AC starts in re-circulation mode

Something that I noticed but haven't called the dealer about yet: If I shut down the engine with AC on, almost every time (and that almost is what's bugging me the most) I turn it back on, whether in a few hours or the next day, re-circulation air mode is turned on along with AC. I know for a...

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

Thanks! Just ordered the retractable cargo cover for it and contemplating the nerf bars, but that would have to wait a bit

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

Just picked up my new GC... did they redesign it for 2015 or what? Thank you, everybody, for help!

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

Oh yeah, Diono is the only way I can even consider anything other than a three row vehicle. I can't say I'm a huge fan of them - to me they seem not as comfortable as the Recaro's that I'm using now, but oh well... they will have to do. Unfortunately, Xterra is too narrow even for dionos...

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

I din't consider Rubicon. My only reason for replacing an X is because I can't fit there anymore - need to be able to fit three car seats on the second row. Otherwise, I was planning to drive that thing into the ground. With proper maintenance, it'd easily go 200+K miles. I'm not an "off-roader"...

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

Wanted to say that I really appreciate everybody's feedback and links to useful info! I honestly didn't expect such a flood of information in such a short period of time!

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

You're right... can't argue with the laws of physics... but it's my butt that's going to be getting a ride there, and not the soulless device measuring the performance.

    2015 4Runner vs. GC

Even in manual mode, until it picked up decent amount of RPMs, it felt too slow... and yes, that's purely subjective as I didn't measure it with the stop watch.
