FWIW...I've never, ever, in many years had a national brand tire store be able to satisfy me when it comes to tire balancing on Toyotas. Since that has been my luck, I now use the dealership only and have had better results. Not 100%, but they get it really close. Perhaps their tire machines...

I have had one for about 20 months now on top of my 100 series. It takes up the vast majority of my 8' rack, leaving not quite 2' for luggage etc. It's big and it's too big to mount sideways (> 6' wide). But...once it's opened up and you pile a bunch of people in it, its sweet!

Agree 100%. Drive it first, use it and you'll quickly realize what is a priority for you. There are some fun and cheap mods if you search that will occupy your time while you're deciding on the big ticket items. Have fun and good luck!

I would say normal, just based on my experiences driving in extreme heat, and / or off roading in mild to extreme heat. Even with new vehicles. With that said...good on you for having it checked and even better that there were no issues!
